Downspouts and roof water

The cheapest drainage fix on most properties, and the most commonly ignored.

The problem

A downspout discharging beside the foundation puts hundreds of litres into exactly the spot you do not want it, every storm.

Options

Surface extensions, buried pipe to a discharge point away from the house, or into a drainage system if one exists.

Do this first

Before any drainage work is designed, downspouts and sump discharge get sorted. Several wet yards a year turn out to need nothing else.

Whatever the material, the base under it and the water around it decide how it looks in ten years.
