Where it works

Contemporary homes, pool decks, and anywhere you want fewer lines and a calmer surface. Scale reads well on larger areas and can overwhelm a small one.

What to know

Large units demand a very flat, very well compacted base — there is nowhere to hide. They are heavy, which affects access and labour.

Winter behaviour

Fewer joints means less joint maintenance, but any base movement shows immediately because the units are rigid across their span.

Whatever the material, the base under it and the water around it decide how it looks in ten years.
