Almost no water absorption, so freeze-thaw and staining are far less of an issue. Colours and finishes stay consistent across the field.

What to know

Brittle at the edges until set, needs a very flat base, and cutting requires the right blade and patience. Material cost is higher than concrete pavers.

Pool decks, contemporary patios and rooftop-style installations.

Whatever the material, the base under it and the water around it decide how it looks in ten years.
